WASHINGTON D.C. — Seattle Mayor, Ed Murray, has been accused of sexually abusing three children.

Murray, afamous gay rights champion and progressive politician, cameto national prominenceof late because of the stances that he took against U.S. President Donald Trump and his immigration policies including banning travel from several Muslim majority countries. Murray is nowaccused by three men of having sex with them when they were children. A child abuse lawsuit filed on Thursday by an unnamed plaintiff who is reportedly male, alleged that Mayor Murray raped and molested him in the 1980's when Murray would have been in his 20's and 30's. Murray is now 61 years of age. According to the lawsuit, the unnamed manwas 15 years of age and homeless on the streets of Washington state when he was criminally violated. Two other men joined the plaintiff in giving interviews to theSeattle Times. All three of the men gave similar stories about Murray, stating that he befriended homeless young boys and paid them to have sexual relations with them.

"I don't necessarily think that he destroyed my life," said Jeff Simpson, who said that his interactions with Murray began when he was 13 years of age."But I believe a lot of the problems I have stemmed from this."

Murray held a press conference in which he dismissed the accusations as claims from a troubled man. Murray took no questions from the press.

"These allegations, dating back to a period of more than 30 years, are simply not true,"said Murray, who is up for reelection later this year.
