Former governor of Texas, Rick Perry, has called for an investigation into the first openly gay Texas A & M University student body president.

Perry, the current Energy Secretary of the United States of America and former Republican governor, questioned the legitimacy of the election of Bobby Brooks, an openly gay student at Texas A & M. Perry penned an op-ed in theHouston Chronicle concerning the election positing that the only reason that Brooks won the election was because he was a homosexual.

"Now, Brooks' presidency is being treated as a victory for 'diversity,'" wrote Perry. "It is difficult to escape the perception that this quest for 'diversity' is the real reason the election outcome was overturned. Does the principle of 'diversity' override and supersede all other values of our Aggie Honor Code?"

In the election, another candidate, Robert McIntosh, was disqualified because of claims of voter intimidation and not providing receipts for glow sticks that he used in a campaign commercial.

"Brooks did not win the election. He finished second by more than 750 votes to one Mr. Robert McIntosh," wrote Perry."How would they act and feel if the victim was different? What if McIntosh had been a minority student instead of a white male? What if Brooks had been the candidate disqualified? Would the administration and the student body have allowed the first gay student body president to be voided for using charity glow sticks? Would the student body have allowed a black student body president to be disqualified on anonymous charges of voter intimidation?"
